Editing in Capture One

Checking Focus:
The image been in focus is the most important part. You could have a perfect image, great lighting, beautiful composition, but what use would it be if it’s not in focus? When shooting I transmitted my images from camera to computer were they were loaded instantly into Capture One. This is handy because there is a tool that you can use to hover over the image that enlarges the area that you choose to see if it’s in focus. In my case the models eyes. This is quick and convenient, a quick check and then carry on shooting.

Editing Background Colour:
When I began the shoot I didn't feel that the background was as bright as I would have liked it to be so Tim showed me this little trick. He clicked onto this tool at the top of the tool bar and then began to paint the background in. it went like this red colour, after that I could then change the brightness of the background and basically the colour. I feel like this took pressure of trying to get the background exactly how I wanted it in camera

Below you can see the difference that this way of editing has on the image. If I'm honest I’m not too sure what one I like better.  I think that the after effect might be too bright. I think I am going to take each image then decided at the time if I think I need to work on the background more or if it is okay as it is. I think I prefer it without the edit on this image and have decided to go with the dark purple.
