Artist Research - Corinne Day

When I was in school/college I used to be obsessed with vogue magazine. Not to read just to look at the pictures. I used to pull my favorite ones out and I would stick them to my walls. I did this for inspiration or just to show what I liked. This is one of the images that I did this too. I have always wanted to do something along these lines even if it’s not with the same models, I just like the way the photos have been presented and also how each one is the same crop and the model takes up the same amount of the shot. So when we were given our brief this was the first thing I thought of. My bedroom walls are empty now and have been for a while but doesn't mean that the inspiration was lost. This has stayed in my mind and I think this is the perfect time to create something along these lines. This image is the starting point of my project and I’m really interested and excited to see where it ends up.

Obviously I have decided to use colour and a coloured background for my shoots. I would have really liked to do it near enough the same as this style but I think that that would be too easy for me and wouldn't really challenge me and give me something to really try hard at. I like the way that each image has a different expression. I would really like to try this but after my initial tutorial with Jamie I discovered that I wanted to take a more serious approach to the project. Considering this I think that the more serious images in this are more appropriate for what I want to do.
