German Photo-booth:
This photo is exactly what I want to create for my final
image. I want this type of presentation the way that they have been positioned
on a page next to each other and also down to how they have been framed. I don’t
want any comical images in my shot though (e.g. the clown image) and I also
want them to be in colour.
I like the lighting
in these images. You can see the subject’s faces clearly but there are still
some shadows and it’s not blasted with flash. I think it’s subtle and creates a
beauty to the image. This is also something I want to create. I don’t want my
images to be completely full of flash and the person just look like they are
stuck onto the background. This image is the perfect example of what I want.
Thomas Ruff:
I have looked at Thomas Ruffs work before
and these images in particular but not as a big group and they went presented
like they are here in the street & studio book. This is particularly interesting
to me for this project as he is using a similar set up and style to what I am
wanting for my project/final outcome. Obviously I won’t have as many images as
Thomas has in this example, even though I would like to, I just don’t think I would
have the time or the access to the models.
What instantly drew me to these images were
the coloured background. I think that this is an even further development of
the image about and is really getting closer to the style that I am wanting to achieve
with my own personal project. The expressions
and the attitudes of the subjects in this example are more along the lines of
what I am wanting to achieve. I don’t want the expressions to be phoney I want
them to look and feel natural and be whatever the model wants to do. I think
that this will give the images more of an honest feel.
