Colour Portraits - Shoot 2

Second shoot was a lot easier and straighter forward as the lighting was already set up and ready to use. It was just a matter of changing the gel on the back light. I want the lighting to be exactly the same so I did everything as I did in the previous shoot.

Enlargements:
The reason that I chose orange for Rochelle is that I think her pink hair is complimented by the colour and enhances it. I also think that the colour works well with her skin tone and gives the image overall a rich tone. I want these images to have a rich and classy feel to them so I have chosen colours that will enhance the image but overall make the image look stronger on a whole.

This shows how I edited the background to try and get it a colour that I liked. I think that with this image the darker orange is better as it will fit well with the deep purple I already have. However I set this up so that it would change on every image instantly as soon as I have shot it (used a layer) but this shows that the model must have moved as you can see the lighter orange underneath. This is something that I will have to go back and retouch if it was to be one of my final images.

This shows the difference in the background. I think that the darker tone is defiantly the better of the two and I also think that this will work alongside my previous shoot better.

The background hasn't been edited in these two pictures but that is easily fixed after the shoot is finished. But I don’t think that I want to edit these images as I am not too sure on them. I think that the expression on the models face is an uncomfortable one and kind of shows her unease at being there. I didn't want this. I want relaxed natural ones. I think the lighting is beautiful and really lights the model in a lovely way and I want the expression on the model to reflect that and project that to the viewer but I really don’t think this is the case in these images.

Final image:

I have decided to choose this as my final image not only because I think that its strong because of the bright catch lights in the models face, but also I like the way that the model is facing. I don’t want all my shots to be the same I want to try and show some variation. I like the lighting on her hair and also her face I think that it gives the model a glow and really highlights these areas. I think that she looks content and relaxed but not in the typical cheesy way. This is a really subtle beauty in my opinion and an image that I am proud to say works just as strongly on its own as well as it would in the group.
