As well as making the model stand out I wanted the
background colours to try and reflect them. What I mean by this is I couldn't put
Rachel on a pink background that would just feel so wrong. I want to do
something that shows the model of to the best of their potential, so this is
why I chose blue for Rachel. I think that this works really well because it is
dark enough to make her really pale skin really stand out and make an impact
but not too dark that you don’t see her hair. It really was the best choice I think.
Again the lighting was the same in this shoot nothing was changed apart from
the positioning of the camera to make sure that the framing of the image was
the same so that it fits in with the other 2 shoots that I have done. This is
really important as I want the images really to be the same only different
coloured background and different model but the actual practical set up be the
same.
Enlargements:
I didn't edit the background on this shoot as it works well
with the other images I have shot of other models. However I also did this as I
think anything brighter would have drew your attention away from the model. But
anything darker you would have lost detail in the models hair.
I don’t know if the model was moving at the time but this
image doesn't look like it is in focus. Also I don’t think that I reflector was
used as there are a lot of harsh shadows on the models face. This is really
what I was trying to avoid. I think that this makes the image really busy, I know
it sounds stupid but it makes the image really busy and I think it just looks
too much. The shadows are too harsh. Also the model is slightly turned. I want
the models body to be facing straight forward but only their heads moving. Her
full body is slightly turned in this one.
I really like this image. I think that the model has an
expression that I was aiming for and I also like that you can see teeth the way
that her jaw is dropped slightly creating a gap between her lips makes me think
that she was relaxed. Her eyes are really strong and draw you into the image. I
think that this may be my final shot from this shoot. Rachel often has a “bad-ass”
look about her but this one I think she looks timid and almost like she is
baring her soul to us.
