The Falls/Spice Farm

Only a few shots from the waterfalls. I didn't want my book to be overrun with images of this day out, however I still wanted it to be incorporated. These are the image that I took for photography purposes rather than personal ones.

These women worked at the spice farm and would sell you the spices, entertain and overall were really lovely ladies. I wanted to take a picture of them, however it really didn't turn out very well, and I was so in the moment that I didn't check and re-take. So this was a really big let-down for me. It’s out of focus, I do however like the composition and the way that the women are stood together. I also think the colours in the image work really well without being too over powering and in your face. I did however manage to capture a little video of their dance, I know this is no good for my book but I have put it in as research.

This is the fall itself, and only a small part of it. The reason I have chosen these images as 2 of my favorite however is because of the way that the water flows down the rocks, it creates a range of intricate lines that remind me of when water runs down glass. The white really stands out of the image also. I also like how you can see the people in the second image, how small that they look compared to the rock and fall. I didn't want the waterfall to be in the center of the frame, this to me would have been predictable.

I found it strange that there weren't many flowers in India. I only really seen them when I was visiting the spice farm. This is the reason that I most probably won’t be putting these into my book. I like the images on their own, like the way that I have used depth of field to really focus on the flower and make it stand away from the green background. However it doesn't seem right to put them in as really they weren’t around and dominant in the culture itself.
