Stop Monkeying Around

(For some reason my contact sheets have now decided that they don’t want a black background they want a white/grayish one)

This may have been my favorite day of my holiday. We went to visit waterfalls and also a spice farm. On the way to the waterfall we came into contact with LOADS of monkeys and I couldn't help but take pictures. I love animals more than I do people so this was so much fun. And they came so close so I got some really nice shots.

Enlargements:

I thought this was interesting. I didn't really see any other animals apart from the elephants and fish but I seen this little frog in the smallest of water pools and I think that it’s a nice, well composed image that you can clearly see the frog and the detail in its skin. I like the change in colour from where the head is popping out the water. Also like the shape of the body and positioning.

The colour is really bright and powerful in this image. I think that’s the most important factor of it. I like how the monkey’s eyes reflect the colour in the background and I think that this really makes his eyes stand out. It gives them a draw that pulls you into the image. I think that this might be my personal favorite, and will defiantly appear in my book. I like the framing and how I have composed the image just of the face of the animal. It really shows detail.

I tried so hard to get a decent shot of the little baby that was holding onto its mother. I am quite proud of this image, as you can imagine the mother was really protective, but with the help of my mam feeding it I managed to get a close up picture. I was amazed by how big and open the baby’s eyes were. Again use of depth of field was important. I wanted the baby to be sharp and the main concentration of the image. I think that I have captured a strong image that shows what I intended. Another image I am going to consider for my book.

This was one of my favorite images of the monkeys but sadly it wasn't as sharp as I would have liked it to be. I like that there isn't much light on the monkey and it’s almost like a silhouette rather than being really bright like the other images. The depth of field makes the background appear like a pattern that the monkey and tree are then laid over the top. He looks so content and happy. It has a peaceful feel to the image.
