Ordering My Book

After creating the initial layout and basic format of my book I then had a number of options that I had to decide on. Things such as the form the book is going to take, the paper quality etc. Although this wasn't something that I had previously thought about, I have created my own book before so I knew that I was going to be asked these options and I had decided to just see how I felt about my book at the end and see what I personally though would work best. By doing this I let my book take form and revolved the format be based around the book rather than producing a book that worked as a hard or soft covered book.

As my book doesn't have loads of pages and is a quite simple book I thought that the best option would be to have a soft cover. I don’t want a thin book that has a thick hard cover. I also liked the idea that the book was flexible. So I went with a soft cover binding for my book.

Paper quality, something I really had to think about. I often get drawn to Matt and the look that it gives. This is also the option that I have chosen in other projects. However that being said I think that because of the nature of my images and that there is a lot of colour used in my images I decided that for this particular project using glossy paper would be the best option and the one that I have chosen to go with.

Another option I chose to have was to be able to get the PDF version of my book. This made it easier to see my book and also to be able to print it off to create my temporary book for hand in. for the extra cost of £2.50 it seemed worth it to both save me time and stress when trying to print my book to create my mock hand in.

Although this isn't something I chose to do, when creating my book if I wanted to make it so that I could sell this would have been a great option to choose and I personally think money well spent. It will enable your book to gain more viewers and be easier to access and carry about. If I was wanting to create a book for the purpose of making money and selling on this would be something that I would consider doing in the future.
