I think that these are some of my favorite images from the
artist that I have looked at. I think that they have a more creative feel to
them and show a different way of looking at the world. The use of colour isn't too
over powering, what is also a touch that I like about the images.
This may possibly be my favorite image out of all the work
from other photographers that I have researched. The use of a shallow depth of field
is amazing. You can see the subject but not clearly but the way that the ball
is in focus and projects her face is something of beauty to me, and really
something that if I was there in that situation would never have thought to do.
Even though the background isn’t in focus it is a main aspect of the image. It provides
the colour, and pattern.
Looking down on a subject can often make them look inferior,
however in this occasion I don’t think that this is the case. It simply gives
you a better view of what is going on. I would like to use high and low angles
to shoot but I wouldn’t want to make it look as though I was looking down on
the subject. I feel that that would cast a negative light and I really want to
express beauty in everything in my book. The fact that the photographer has
gotten the people who are standing around the man’s legs in gives you a sense
that something is going on. This is putting the image into perspective and
giving it a different perspective.
Although this image looks posed I don’t mind that. I actually
like it. Just because something is set up or posed doesn’t make it any less of
a beautiful image. The colours teamed with the expressions on the subjects face
really makes an image that is fun and carefree. I really like this and I will
really consider about putting images like this into my book (obviously my own
work though)
Images of food or flowers provide colour and texture to an
image. I like that they create a repetitive pattern. I think that although
these are simple images it’s something that gives you a sense of the place,
what is to offer and what they eat. The fact that these images are almost bird
eye view looking down is something that I also appreciated. It gives you a
clear view of the subject, what is going on and you can see everything in the
box/basket. This is informative, and leaves little to the imagination. Images like
this are really what I was trying to capture in my own work.
The depth of field in this image is something that I tried
to use in my own photography work. Picking out an aspect of the image to focus
on. I like this because you don’t have to see the full image to know what is
going on. You know what type of people they are by the way that they are
dressed. These types of images create simple but detailed images in my view
that are rather informative when you actually take the time to look and concentrate
on them.
