These are images not of your typical landscape but i still think that they are beautiful in a different way. Really should have a look through the images on the website because there is some awesome examples of landscapes on there.

The patterns created by the cooled down lava are really interesting and i can see why the photographer has decided to take this image. They twist and turn in almost spiral compositions. This really makes the image interesting and gives different tones and textures to look at. I like how you can see bits of orange peeping out were the lava is still hot. It helps to break up the blackness of the bottom of the image. I also think that the smoke adds the final touches to the image. Gives a bit more detail and shows the effect of the hot lava reaching the sea. Natural wonders like this really interest me and are truly beautiful.

I know that you cant really see much in this image because of the dark sky and all the smoke but i think its a gorgeous landscape. I like the way the smoke is created by the lava hitting the cold water, and how the smoke is lit by the colours off the hot lava. It creates beautiful bright reds and oranges that fade to purple and blue the further away from the source it gets.
