Book Research - Manufactured Landscapes

I took this book out the library to use as research a hell of a long time ago, but only just got round to looking through it. I have had some trouble scanning in images so i had to take the pictures of the images i liked using my phone so sorry for the bad quality of image. However I'm sure you catch the drift.  I really just picked these images because i liked the compositions of them, or what they were made up of or what was Incorporated in the image. The book is really good and has some unique landscapes, not so much your typical picturesque landscape that you come to expect from the name!

What i particular like about this one is the way that it does look like a typical landscape picture however its not quite as pretty as you would expect. The clouds are really dark and give the image a rather miserable feel. Also you see the quarry in the image that has destroyed what once may have been an idyllic landscape. Shows how humans are effecting nature and its beauty.

I'm just really drawn to the geometric forms in this image. Also line and tone created by the texture and shape of the stones, and also the colour patterns. It almost doesn't look like an image more of a constructed art piece.

I like the angle of the camera in this image. Almost like a birds eye view. Maybe landscape doesn't have to be looking out at the world, maybe it could be looking down on it?

i simply chose to put this image in because i just cant believe how vast the waist is. There are so many old tires. Its just madness!

What has drawn me to this image is that repetition of the rig in the image. I like the way that you can see them right into the distance. This again shows how we are effecting the landscapes. I also like the concept of the mix between industrial and natural in the image.
