What i find interesting in this photographers work is the use of really bright backdrops. It almost looks as though they have been edited after the shot as they are really bold and bright. I kind of like it i cant really make up my mind if it looks a bit tacky or not. Maybe its just the subject that makes me feel this way because i really like the one of the little girl on the pink background. Also the lighting looks as though there is a light positioned behind the model directed onto the back drop to give this glow of light around the head of the models. Almost making them look saintly.
On these two images he has the model looking away from the camera lens and slightly side angled almost like a school photo. I'm not sure if he has done this to make them look away as if they are heading in a direction or thinking/looking to the future.
The difference in these two is that the models are looking down the lens. Gives the image a stronger feel in away that they look more natural. Even though i think that they do still have a rather fake look to them, enhanced by the colours all over the images.
I think that this is meant to be a natural looking shot but i cant help feeling that this also is set up. i like the crop of the image and the way that you are just beginning to loose the top of the models head. it makes the backdrop not as in your face. The more i look at these images the more unsure i get about them i just don't know how to take them.
