Robert Werling - Beyond Light American Landscapes

I really do think landscape images like the ones in this book are fantastic. The detail that is captured and the stunning locations that have been photographed are just breath taking and create amazing images.  These are not really the type of photographs that i want to capture for my project simply because i wouldn't be able to pull it off to this standard and there isn't breath taking views like this around me, i only wish ...

In this shot the image is kind of cropped in the photo itself by nature rather than the photographer . The cave that the photographer is stood in, the opening kind of wraps round the centre of the image and almost frames the wolf or dog. I do however like the texture from the in side of the cave, it adds details and also different tones to the image.

I didn't really think or bother with sky in an image until i captured the image of the up close transporter bridge were the clouds are really moody. This is what really attracted me to this image, the way the sky makes the picture really dark and moody. I also like the little horse at the bottom of the image, it puts in to perspective just how big the natural landscape is around the horse.

I think that the light is what really creates this image. Its soft and makes the image feel calming and peaceful. It makes the tree almost like a silhouette and the way that the light beams through the branches is stunning. Its not too busy or over powering in my view its a really subtle, beautiful image.
